Location: It will either be held at my apartment, or the top floor of my mom's townhouse if attendance is too large to fit in my apartment. Both locations are in South Riding, Virginia. If the netparty location changes, I will notify all RSVP'd participants, and it will not change enough to affect airport arrivals. Airports: BWI IAD DCA   (also known as WAS)

RSVP: Email me as soon as you know if you can come, at bahdko@erols.com.

Each match consists of 2 games played to 50, switching each player between green and indigo, and the winner is the one with the highest frag count. Each map listed below is a seperate tournament.

(1) Doom2 Map1 Skill 5 Old Deathmatch
(2) Doom2 Map11 Skill 5 Altdeath
Prizes: (prizes are subject to change if better stuff comes available).
1st place: your very own CacoPet
2ed and 3rd: to be announced

What to bring:

a. Your computer and all of your needed accessories, including whatever you like to sit your monitor on top of to raise your monitor up. It is possible to fly on an airplane with your computer, btw, email me if you want some information on how this can be done. If you are unable to bring your monitor, i may be able to borrow one locally for you, but i probably can borrow no more than 1 monitor so if too many people do this, we will be short on equipment.

b. If your PC does not have a network card, you should try to get one in it and get it working for IPX networking, if you know how. If you don't, buy the card and I'll help you get it working. Make sure it (1) comes with drivers for the operating system you use to connect in Doom (if you shut all the way down to DOSmode, you need dos-level drivers (sometimes called Win3.x) and (2) it is a kind of card that you have a slot open for on your motherboard. PCI and ISA cards do not plug into the same kinds of slots. ISA are the long black card slots. PCI are the shorter, whitish-colored slots. If you have a choice, get one that does both 10b2 and 10bt (the 10bt-only ones are more common, and will work fine).

c. Working headphones. Working means you tested them with your system while running Doom2 and it worked ok for you.

d. If you want to bring your computer chair, feel free. I take my chair to all netparties, but then again I am kind of strange.

e. If you will be sleeping here, it would be ideal to bring your pillow(s) and a blanket at least. Let me know what you'll be bringing so I can be prepared. I expect to have cots or air matresses or something like that (in addition to the couch and easy chair I have), but if you bring your own, all the better. Only 1 person will fit on a couch and in a chair.

f. If you are coming from a super long distance away and want to stay longer than just the weekend, that's fine. Just tell me in advance what your plans are.

WHAT NOT TO BRING:

a. Stereos. Someone did that at a netparty once. believe it or not.

b. External speakers and no headphones.

c. Illegal drugs. Doom is it's own drug, thank you very-much..

d. No alcoholic drinks within the netparty itself please, as there will be underage players attending.

Misc. details:

Kings Dominion: We will be doing a Kings Dominion trip on the last day of the netparty (Monday) (http://www.kingsdominion.com/). General admission to Kings Dominion is $35.99, but we'll hopefully be paying a few dollars less due to  discounts we will find. Or, if we have 15 or more people going, we will get a group rate of $28.50 each.

Sleeping: It is assumed that most attendees will be sleeping here. If you don't want to sleep here, you're of course welcome to get a hotel room somewhere for yourself. It's hard to get hotel rooms in Northern Virginia however, so make such hotel reservations well enough in advance if you are going to want one.

Food: We will be making several trips to the grocery store where people can buy what they want, plus there is a Dominos Pizza and a chinese carry-out nearby. I will have some food available, but you should plan to primarily feed yourself (unless eating sandwiches all weekend sounds great to you). And of course, attendees are encouraged to bring food and drinks to share.
